I guess mine is The Alchemist. It is certainly Coelho's most popular. I think I really took to Coelho's story of transformation. At one point I wanted to share it with people at my parish church in Indianapolis, but no one showed up for the first meeting.
I stopped by the Borders Bookstore next to Penn Station in New York City this afternoon, and noticed that it has a special display of Paulo Coelho's books.

I liked The Alchemist, partly because a friend recommended it to me (I love reading friends' recommendations, since it also tells me something about them). But The Devil and Miss Prym is my favorite.

Mine is The Alchemist too.

mine is the alchemist too, for me, the problem w/ the zahir is the fact it s written in the first person, and i think paulo coelho tells stories better than he lives them...

I like All the books of Paulo Coelho, but for me I think "Veronikas Decides to Die" is the best I've ever read, is really awsome!!!!

I'm another who's favourite is Veronika Decides to Die. Something about it just really resonates with me. Must be time for a re-read.

I finally read The Zahir and it was quite good, perhaps my favorite since The Alchemist. I couldn't get far with Veronika Decides to Die.

I love everything I've read by Coelho, but I would have to say that Veronika decides to die & the Witch of Portebello are my favorites!
