The book is about a lizard named Lily. One of the lines went like this: and as for lily lizard does she know the dangers of traveling on the train? she might meet a stranger

Was this a picture book or a chapter book? How old is "older?" For some LT members that might imply that it dates to the 1950s, for others that it's from 2001.

Found it in Google Books Advanced Search. It's from The Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast in a poem called "Punchinello":
(excerpt)
As for Lily Lizard,
Silly Lily Lizard,
Did she know the hazard
Going on her own,
Travelling by train?
(excerpt)
As for Lily Lizard,
Silly Lily Lizard,
Did she know the hazard
Going on her own,
Travelling by train?

Gorgeous illustrations. Looks like the picture book was published in 1973, but was based on a poem from 1802 by William Roscoe.
