Really loved From Baghdad With Love. Anything by Harlan Coben is a great way to spend a few hours. Pretty sure I've ready everything he's written except for his YA books.

1. The Bone Garden by Tess Gerritsen

This was a medical mystery that takesplace in the 1830's. There is some present day also.

2. If I Stay by Gayle Forman

If you are a fan of YA literature, this is a good story. I hope the sequel is as good.

I do like YA books, so thanks for the recommendation.

>10 dara85: I read Leave Me by Gayle Forman last year, and didn't like it as much as I thought I would. I have been curious to try some of her other books, such as If I Stay, and I do read YA fairly regularly (esp. when I am in the mood for a quick read!).

4. How Starbucks Saved My Life by Michael Gates Gill

This was an interesting read. (See my review)

5. Cat and Mouse by James Patterson

I have read many of Alex Cross series. I missed this one. I am glad I went back and picked it up.

I want to read those books some day. I thought the movies were quite good.

The books are some of his better books.

What an action packed thriller! A great start to the series.

7. Violets of March by Sarah Jio

This was my second book by Jio. Both were 5 star reads for me. I loved this book.

8. Santa Fe Dead by Stuart Woods

Although some of his plot twists seem implausible, I still like his books and this was a page turner.

9. Damaged by Pamela Callow

This was a good book and look forward to the next in the series.

What is the first book in the series? I'm not familiar with the author, but the book looks interesting to me.

10. Children of the Flames by Lucette Lagnado

This was not as good as I had hoped. I wish more time was spent on the twins than Mengele after the war. (see my review)

Why not share your reviews here? That's kind of what the point of the posts here are, to share and discuss the things we read. :)

11. Starvation Lake by Bryan Gruley

I enjoyed this book. I hope to read others in the series.

12. The Gods of Guilt by Michael Connelly

Mickey Haller is always trying to work an angle.

13. Absolute Fear by Lisa Jackson

This was not as good as some of her books. It did have some good twists in it.

14. The Lonely Polygamist by Brady Udall

This was an interesting and humorous book. I really enjoyed it.

15. Bone Cold by Erica Spindler

I wasn't blown away by this mystery, but it was close. Another excellent suspenseful read by one of my favorites, Erica Spindler!

Oh, I loved that one. It hit all the right buttons for me.

18. Marvelous Journey Home by John Simmons

This is about a couple who adopt orphans from Russia. It is a heartwarming story about two girls and how they fit into the family, just as the beloved grandmother is at the end of her life.

19. Carolina Skeletons by David Stout

If you want an action packed, fast paced mystery this one is not for you. It is quite slow moving and at times seems to be going no where. The second half book moves a lot faster and pulls everything together.

Dec 22, 2017, 12:26 pm

20. Spencer's Mountain by Earl Hamner

This was a fun folksey read. I actually loved it. It surprised me it was a little more risqué than I thought it would be for the time it was written.

I recommend this for anyone who was a fan of The Waltons TV show.

Will you have time to knock one more off the list? You're doing great!

43dara85
Dec 24, 2017, 11:40 pm

Probably not, because I am presently reading a book for my book discussion in January and I have a library book to read after that.

I have posted my list for next year. I am glad you let us pick a large number of books. Several were not available at my public library, but I live in a metropolitan area, so I have access to several other libraries and I found a couple on audio. I love making my list each year.

>45 dara85:, that's daring of you, to list books you're not certain you can lay hands on. I have mild panic attacks about doing that, lol. I'll take a tip from you and try to relax.
