There is a thread in the "New Features" group which has the topic of "Touchstones Fix" or something to that point. Anyway, it is quite possible that all the strange and weird touchstone results will go away. I've been playing around and haven't stumped them yet. :)

Based on the header, I thought this was spam and needed to be flagged. (Especially since an interrobang was used.)

Does this mean the touchstones won't all point to Harry Potter or Huckleberry Finn now? :o)

Just tested all the titles that have hitherto given me grief, and they're actually working for me.

>2 suitable1: Sorry, I was so excited I couldn't help myself. :)

>4 justjukka: Isn't it great? I've yet to enter a lot of touchstones, but so far I haven't had a misstep even once. There is talk that the first hit will now be the title in your own catalog, not sure if that is simply an idea, or if it's happening, but it worked for me on Storm Front by Jim Butcher, and it never has before.

And I'd thought this was gong to be about beren and luthien

The chances of that touchstoning previously would have been nil. So bonus all around. BnL is out if you haven't heard. I've no idea how much of this is a CT reworking and filling in and how much is actually JRR's works. It is a least a novel rather than a history, but I'll certainly be waiting for some reviews first.

>8 reading_fox: Oh yes, my copy should be arriving today! :) I have loved the new books which are coming out, especially with illustrations by Alan Lee, so I bought it as soon as I heard.

I shouldn't think it would take too many liberties, since the story was already published in the Silmarillion, but we shall see. I don't seem to mind Christopher Tolkien's reworkings so much as some people do.

>8 reading_fox: It has arrived, and is lovely. Perfect size for hands to hold, rich and lovely illustrations, all a bit in the grey/blue tones, but that fits the tale. No ragged edges for those of you who hate those. The printing is a comfortable size for me, well spaced. Can't wait to read this one! That isn't really true though, I am going to wait until I finish my current "at home" book so I can immerse myself in this one.
