What was the best picture you took all year? Where? What were your camera, film, settings, etc. etc.

I've been working on a photo series of cemeteries and am actually quite proud of this shot.

I use an Olympus E500. At the time it was set at an ISO of 100 with the aperture wide open and an exposure of 30 sec.

Once on the computer I converted to black and white and gave it an infrared effect.

When I'm not slaving over the LibraryThing code you can usually find me with a camera in hand. Unfortunately, LT has taken more time from my photo passion than I would like this year.

Best picture? Hm. That's a hard one to answer. Probably this one:

But it's almost too easy to take pictures in Santorini. It's like cheating. I also like this one for some reason. It has texture and a feeling that makes me wonder. It's from a market in Xanthi, Greece:

And I like this one too. I like buildings. Especially ones with character:

Hi, Dawg ~ I was on your flickr site earlier & saw the fish market image. It is really special ~ strangely enough, very much like a painting. I loved some of your others too. Actually, a lot of your others. Makes me wish I could do as fine work as you do. I like buildings too, and you have done some wonderful things with them.

Thanks for the kinds words. They made me smile, which is a tough thing to do tonight as I roll out new search code for LibraryThing and reindex all of your books. But maybe tomorrow I can get out and take some pictures.

I really appreciate you guys. I am such a novice with the camera and then when I put it down for too long I forget some of the stuff. Let's keep bragging.

don't know if this is necessarily my best, but it does make me smile...

I haven't been taking a lot of pictures, however, I am willing to say post on my live journal (gilroycullen) and I'll add you to my photo filter.

I think my favorite had to be one of my cat hiding in the curtain, so I only saw an eyeball and and ear. :>

I had fun with this one:

This was one of my first attempts at a lith print. Shot at a then-abandoned house where the people seemed to have vanished overnight, and I found this spray-painted message on their shed very compelling.

Another family has moved in now. :)
