Welcome to the discussion thread for book 9 of the Poldark saga, The Miller's Dance! Here's the Goodreads plot synopsis:

At Nampara, the Poldark family finds that the new year brings involvement in unexpected ventures. For Ross and Demelza there is some surprising—and worrying—news. And Clowance, newly returned from London, finds that her entanglement with Stephen Carrington brings both joy and heartache.

I'm hoping that means we won't have to put up with Stephen for too much longer! But either way, please post your comments, questions, and reviews below. :)

I have the e-book downloaded from the library from a few days ago. I won't start for another week due to other reading commitments but looking forward to seeing who the Poldark children finally end up with.

I think I enjoyed The Stranger From the Sea more on a reread as an older adult than I did when it came out, and I was a young adult. I'm hoping my experience with The Miller's Dance is the same...not that I disliked ANY of the Poldark books...Winston Graham was such an engaging author.

I finished my reread of The Miller's Dance this afternoon, sitting in a doctor's office waiting area. Another very good read, and this one, while not exactly ending with a cliffhanger, makes it clear there is more to come in the story of the Poldarks.

Two weeks until The Loving Cup...

Finished! I really feel the sun setting on the series in this one, for some reason.
Very surprised at Demelza giving birth to Henry!.
Loved the part where Jeremy offered to buy Cuby and she told him to go to hell. I'm glad those two seem to grow closer but then the engagement with Valentine!!.
So glad that Clowance sees the light about Stephen! .

I'm about halfway through and enjoying it, as usual. I must admit, I'm excited that this is one of the shorter books in the series!

>7 VictoriaPL: there are three more books, what do you mean by "sun setting"?

I'm really enjoying my rereads. :)

I finished this book over the weekend. Looks like Jeremy really takes after his father when it comes to making terrible impulsive decisions! I look forward to seeing where that storyline goes in the next book. Also, like Victoria, I'm glad that Clowance and Stephen have broken up, but I doubt we've seen the last of Stephen!
