I am 11 and love YA a lot!
You would think that I am way too young to start reading in this category, but I truly would consider myself more of a mature tween for my age. I started reading YA in March by reading the #1 New York Times Bestseller "Divergent" and fell in love. I just kept looking for more and more books just like it and fell in love with YA.

For parents that would want to know which age is good for their child, I would definitely see how mature they are.
So maybe they would be 11, 12, 13? Its good to see their behavior and then, say what age if good!!!

Hi Annie,

I think you're right - there's no 'minimum age' to read a book, as long as the reader can handle it.

There is, however, a minimum age to sign up to LT, because of data protection and online safety laws. It's 13, which means you really shouldn't be here - maybe ask an older person to create an account on your behalf, or just explore your reading offline for the next couple of years?
