Fox News has been cooking up a new conspiracy theory sure to catch fire in the minds of Trump's die-hard supporters. Get a load of this. . .
However this "theory" didn't arise with Fox producers. They just paid attention to FL Republican, Rep. Matt Gaetz when he appeared on a nearly deserted House floor to announce to the ether that “We are at risk of a coup d’état in this country if we allow an unaccountable person with no oversight to undermine the duly-elected President of the United States,” Gaetz said. “And I would offer, that is precisely what is happening right now with the indisputable conflicts of interest that are present with Mr. Mueller and others at the Department of Justice.”
“I join my colleague, the gentleman from Arizona, in calling for Mr. Mueller’s resignation or his firing,” Gaetz continued.
Mr. Gaetz may have just awoken from a long winter's nap, but the rest of America is aware that Mueller's function as Special Prosecutor is legal, and supervised by Rod Rosenstein, the Deputy Attorney General. He misses being supervised by Jeff Sessions, Attorney General, who has recused himself from "Russiagate."
Hence, no coup. In fact, Mueller is defending the Constitution and enforcing the Law.
Gaetz, on the other hand, is flouting the oath he swore at assuming his seat in the House, since he advocates for Mueller's firing -- an act that is illegal in the absence of cause. Rod Rosenstein testified last June and again last week that Prosecutor Mueller is performing his duties in a legal and approved manner. No cause exists for his firing.
But Gaetz can't handle the truth and went on CNN to foment more fake conspiracy, saying, "These are actions that people are taking to undermine the duly elected president and to undermine the democracy in our country referring to FBI emails that expressed anti-Trump sentiments."
Fox News, responding to and fostering Gaetz's coup obsession, have widened the ripples by getting Kellyanne COnway, a tax-paid employee of the Trump administration to tout that same idea.
Investigation is a legal function to uproot criminal behavior and prosecutors serve the law.
Sedition is an illegal action meant to overturn or overthrow the legal government and laws of the land, and usually involves violence. such as inciting a coup by words or deeds.
What do you think -- is Meuller, or are Fox, Gaetz, and Conway the threat to our democracy?
Fox News host Jesse Watters criticized Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation at the FBI, suggesting it’s been “crooked from the jump.”
“If that’s true,” he said on Saturday, “we have a coup on our hands in America.”

Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway appeared on Watters’s show shortly after his comment, and a chyron appeared below her reading: “A coup in America?”
“The fix was in against Donald Trump from the beginning, and they were pro-Hillary,” Conway said, referring to the FBI. “They can’t possibly be seen as objective or transparent or even-handed or fair.” (Vox)
