Welcome.
Actually I have a selfish motive. I misplaced a book of problems I bought in the '80s. Anybody have a copy of (Approximate title):
Encyclopedia of the Moddle Game. It was published in Belgrade (Beograd), and was polyglot in about a dozen languages, but of course consisted mostly of page after glorious page of remarkable problems taken from real games, the game being cited & arranged by motif.
You do? Don't suppose you'd be willing to part with it?!

I remember the book (black cover, right?), and in fact once owned it myself. Alas, it seems to have escaped my library at some point...which is odd, b/c I tend to hold on to my chess books.

Have rediscovered it! It was nerve racking, though. I thought there was a reasonable chance I had lost it while travelling. Turned up in an odd corner, though. Thanks for the concern,

Hey guys, hope we can make something of this group. I really love my chess books, although I confess that I have more enthusiasm than talent for the game. My current chess read is The Second Piatigorsky Cup tournament book, covering the 1966 Santa Monica tournament. Spassky took first, followed by Fischer and then Larsen.
