Hey. The cheer/boo thing allows people to agree with or disagree with a translation without changing it. The idea is that it allows consensus to form around a translation, and when a bunch of users agree to it, the translation is no longer available to be changed. This is better than allowing changes forever--ten years down the road it's still flipping back and forth between tu and vous--or stopping changes at some arbitrary time (the "musical chairs" way).
To edit a translation, go to a page where the words are, and choose to translate the page. I don't right now have a "all my translations" page. I'm not sure it would be very useful, but I can see the point.

simple enough but wrongly translated (in greek).
relevant phrases were (if i remember well) on the central (greek) translation page:

but when translated they simply disappeared. i seek them desperately to edit them but they succeedinglly hide from me.
the same page looks quite ill since html markups in the translated phrases are mysteriously not ignored when page is saved.
i think i need help.

I understand your problem. You do not get yourself a way to reach the edit translation page where you can edit and translate (and correct the translation of) the "cheer", "edit" etc. text snippets.
I didn't get there neither (see i.a. my question Wie? (German for "How?") in the LibraryThing in German. Though I received several kind explanations, they didn't help.
I wasn't able to find and get there and translate the said text snippets until Tim released the Maniacs feature--and I understand I wasn't the only one in this case.
The latter is providing but one single hit opportunity. You might return while the translation is still figuring in the "Recently translated" list, but once it is replaced over there by more recent translations of other text snippets, your opportunity is gone--or so it seems indeed.
I wonder how one could ever cheer--or boo, for that matter--a translation that cannot be edited for it even cannot be found.
