Put them in brackets 'smaller then' and 'bigger then'

bigger than: >
smaller than is the one pointing the other way.

Does that make sense?

I understand now. I thought you were saying that we could make the stars bigger. Duh.

Yes you can make them larger or smaller, by defining height, the height of the actual picture is 16:
img height="16" src="http://www.deffler.com/lt/stars_five.gif"

original:

smaller, height="12":

larger, height="20":

very large , height="24":

If you make it larger than the original, the picture fades a bit.

Great addition, Anita! I did not know that! Thanks for explaining.

Can you tell me how to reference a specific posting within a thread? I see this all the time but not sure how to do it.

>11 LadyoftheLodge: Hi there - if you do a > and follow it with the number of the post then that's how it's done. So I just started this post with > 11 (but without the space before the 11) and that was all I needed to do - you don't need to write the person's name out. Hope that helps :)

That is just what I needed, thanks!

Dumb question--how do you get them to be all green, like they are on LT?

>14 kac522: Here is the code you put in brackets to get the green LT stars:

img src="http://static.librarything.com/pics/ssX.gif"

Replace X with numbers to get stars as follows:

ss1 = 1/2 star
ss2 = 1 star
ss3 = 1 1/2 stars
ss4 = 2 stars
ss5 = 2 1/2 stars
ss6 = 3 stars
ss7 = 3 1/2 stars
ss8 = 4 stars
ss9 = 4 1/2 stars
ss10 = 5 stars

img scr= "http://pics.cdn.librarything.com/pics/ss7.gif" /
- change the number to change the number of stars.
Again this all goes inside the arrow brackets.

>19 kac522: You're welcome! Also note that I edited the last one. The ss10 will give you 5 stars :)
