ILLUSTRATED LIST OF FOLIO SOCIETY LIMITED EDITIONS 2001 to 2005

Although there had been limited edition books published at irregular times previously, the official Folio Society Limited Editions program started in 2001 with "Benedictional of St Aethelwold".
"Strictly limited, bound to order and never repeated, Folio Society limited edition books are outstanding works of literary or historical significance reproduced as works of art in their own right. Many of our editions are facsimiles of treasures held in some of the world’s greatest libraries and museums. For others, we commission leading artists and craftsmen to create editions that represent the pinnacle of book publishing. All are designed to become keepsakes for future generations."

This series of threads is designed to list all the curent series of limited editions in five year blocks, initially by year, then alphabetic order, with a picture of both the exterior and interior of each book.
The prices in the lists below are representative only, and may have varied from time to time, and market to market.

The other threads in this series can be found thus:-

Thank you, I am sure I am not alone in finding this an invaluable reference for LEs on which I missed out (Ulysses springs to mind and Don Quixote looks awfully nice.)

>2 Cat_of_Ulthar: The Don Quixote LE was another of those FS LEs where they used the standard edition's text block (but signed by the illustrator) and added a nice leather binding and solander box.
