This thread is specifically for @dallenbaugh's challenge to read a book set in a country that mirrors where your dog (or other pet) originated. Here is where you get to post a picture of the pet you're using for this challenge. Go to it, challengers. Post your adorable pictures now!

Currently we don't have a dog, but I chose a Shiba Inu as my dog of choice because my brother had a wonderful Shiba Inu called Toshi that everyone loved. If I was to get a dog, this breed would most certainly be among my top contenders.

I am overbooked for August already, but I will try to get to Mrs. Pollifax on the China Station in honor of my Shih Tzu, Adrian. I selected one of my favorite photos to post here:

I haven't yet picked out a book for this challenge, but I rarely pass up an opportunity to show off my baby. He is a chocolate lab (Canada) and neopolitan mastiff (Italy) cross, weighing in at 56kg (123 pounds), named Thor.

For The Man Who Loved China: our Chinese Mantis :) He was a fun pet, especially when he was small enough to eat mosquitoes.
