I need help finding a book I read as a child about a magician. It was a small paperback, and I think it was published around the 60s. The storyline was about a man who befriends a magician and visits his house and is confused by the things he does but enjoys himself and returns to visit often.
Small details I remember are mangoes that dont spill juice everywhere so you can eat them normally, a fancy dress party, an octopus waiter ( this might have been another book ), magic curtains, and a jug that produced whatever liquid you wanted.
