Prolific poet and quiet activist known as the Bubble Lady, Julia Vinograd died December 4 at the age of 75. She had documented the Berkeley, California street scene in her poems since 1967, with collections including Cannibal Carnival, Blues for the Berkeley Inn and Skull & Crosswords.

Keith Small died December 6th 2018 aged 59. Although a Christian scholar he also wrote on Islamic texts and his researches described in his book Textual Criticism and Quran Manuscripts suggested that the Quran was not an original manuscript.
