I want to try some books by this author, but I am not so sure if I will like them.

When I was younger, I read Little Women and loved it. Is style and wrting comparable to Austen? Or are the books difficult reads?

Oh my, how I envy you. To read Austen for the first time! She is amazing and I don't have the language to do her justice. Some people read her slim, but perfect output every year, I think I am more in the every other year or two year category. I suggest you go to her page here - use search tab - to read the reviews and see how many groups of devotees there are here on Library Thing. And then you should begin with, umm, either Pride and Prejudice or Sense and Sensibility.
Her style is not like Alcott, but is witty, with sharply etched descriptions of people and social manners that are as fresh today as when they were written. Little Women, while quite a nice read, is not nearly in the same class.
