Peter Newell's books have been re-issued, so can be found. I happen to have an original.

The premise would be a no-no today (While fooling with a gun, Tom Potts shoots a bullet that seems to be unstoppable), but the results here are all in fun.

Published in 1904, you can read it at Hathi Trust, but it's the cover that I crave.
