SantaThing: you bet! We'll announce details later this month. The Holiday Card Exchange is something we will decide later on. I suspect leaning towards "yes", but we'll see.

>2 kristilabrie: I do hope we do the Holiday Card exchange. Carrie and I purchased cards for it this summer.

>4 thornton37814: Me too! I don't do SantaThing anymore because I'm way too picky, but I love the card exchange. So few of my friends and family send cards anymore, and I love them.

>5 tardis: I was a little disappointed in most of the selections from my Santa last year so I'm going to ask my Santa to stick to my Christmas wish list this time, I think.

>3 libraryperilous: Actually, may not be far off from the 18th, since our next SOTT is scheduled to go out around that time. :)
>4 thornton37814: and >5 tardis: Good to know! Ultimately @timspalding will decide, I think, but I do have fun sending out cards each year.

>6 thornton37814: I am trying to acquire fewer books (with mixed success, LOL), so although I adore the IDEA of SantaThing, my experience was that I did not love most of the selections enough to keep them, so it didn't feel worth it. I participate in SantaThing by looking at what other people want and making suggestions, but I'm happy not getting any books.

I hope you do the card exchange, even though I think LT waits too long to get it going. I enjoy sending my cards out and since I moved across country this year, I was wondering if that would change the pool of matches from past years. I have had one name 3 years in a row. I also like receiving cards and hopefully if past exchangers send me a card this year (as some do and are always a lovely and welcome surprise) at my old address, the post office will forward them promptly.

I, too, hope you do the holiday card exchange again this year. It’s such a simple thing to participate in and I love getting in the holiday spirit with fellow LTers. I have my cards all ready for the exchange! *fingers crossed* 🎄🙂

I too am ready and raring to go on the card exchange. Really hope it happens and soon!

I Love Santathing!!!

@tardis Do you read kindle books? If you do you can select kindle books on Santathing that way if you get a book you don't think you'll like you can exchange it for gift credit and get a book you would like.
14tardis
>13 InsightsintoBooks: Nope, don't have a Kindle. I have a Kobo, but I almost never buy books for it - I use it mostly for library e-books, stuff I get through Patreon, and Early Reviewers. Me not doing SantaThing is not keeping me up at night LOL.

SantaThing is my most favorite time of year! :)

I just refreshed the home page (it's a habit, leave me alone, I'm old)...
Guess what? Santathing is (almost) here. It says that it starts on the 18th. Cute graphic and everything. You're welcome. :-}

It looks like we're going to be pushed and won't be opening SantaThing until tomorrow morning. We're close, please hold on just a little bit longer!

So much excitment! :)

I thought that date changed by a day!
I'm cool to wait. I actually saved a little for SantaThing this year, though I won't be able to pay forward the donation I got last year until maybe the next.
Hoping for the card exchange as well! I didn't get all the responses I was hoping for (3/5) but I still had fun! It was super tempting to pick some of the Christmas cards that Tim Horton's was selling for international exchanges, but I have enough at home here.

>20 WeeTurtle: pay it forward when you can. :) I'm so excited to see what books we all get this year.

>20 WeeTurtle: The Card Exchange is on for this year, but not 'til after SantaThing signups close—details will come soon! I know there's always the issue of it being too late for some of our further-distance deliveries, but SantaThing must come first. I'm happy to have it later in the season than not at all, personally. :)

I just noticed that I signed up for the card exchange on the 2018 (yup. . ) card exchange. I take it I need to re sign up when the 2019 starts?
2.I'm assuming the Stanta Thing has not started yet.

SantaThing should hopefully be up some time today. :) I know their working hard on it.

SantaThing is live! I'm sure you're all already on the ball, of course. https://www.librarything.com/topic/313157
