We can see the sky, it is NOT rimmed with angels singing. The word “verily” means “honestly” compounding the false information.

This is a girl's name.

The above is an example of why young children have to be taught to accept this stuff before they are old enough to think.

I'm pretty sure the usage of "Gloria" as a girl's name is very recent, whereas the word in hymns dates back to the Middle Ages, at least.

Agreed. It just doesn't seem to be very incisive criticism. Ironically, his parsing of the words of the carol is more likely to reflect the understanding of the juvenile auditor than a mature one. And song lyrics are often counterfactual or even nonsensical without impairing the value of the composition.
Novak has established in other threads a (justifiable, I think) animus against religion in school environments. In the US, at any rate, Christmas carols are a perennial edge case that manage to slip easily in to choral programs at secular schools, only sometimes "balanced" out with holiday music from other religious traditions or purely secular songs.
