Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf

Mrs. Dalloway was published in May 1925. The story takes place in London, post First World War, in the middle of June 1923. Clarissa Dalloway is the main character along with Septimus Warren Smith. They don't know each other, but their worlds intersect. Some of the story is told in various flash backs, but as I said, all in the same day.

I have the audio, narrated by the wonderful Juliet Stevenson. This is the cover. I also have the book with the cover above which was gifted to me by the lovely Lisa (LisaMorr).

Please share your cover as there are so many beautiful covers out there!

I purchased this ebook in 2017 and am glad I'm going to read it!

How is everyone doing with Mrs. Dalloway? I'm about finished, but I've slowed down because I have a library book due soon.

I do think it is easier to listen to than read, but then you don't "see" the transitions. I'm not sure which is better honestly. I am enjoying this, but it is not the easiest read.

Stream of consciousness is not my thing!

I'm on page 78 of the Harcourt edition. Stream of consciousness isn't normally my thing either. This started out kinda rough for me but got easier as I went along. I think it would have been easier to know who is talking if it had been broken into chapters.

Not my favorite book. I, like >10 mstrust:, it got easier as I read more. Since I have a copy of the books, I will probably re-read.
