And just when I think I have seen and know about most worthwhile modern private press books, circa 1890 to present day...............
This is a little gem, a fascinating peek into an important historical period in Great Britain and the book is intelligently designed. The woodcut illustrations are "of the period" , the facsimiles of the original letters are a wonderful touch and, most important.........
".....letterpress printed by John Grice at Evergreen Press."
Grice is one of the very finest letterpress printers in the U.K. and wcarter's macro photo of the colophon clearly show why. The printing is flawless. Consider me "enabled" and thank you for posting this.
