Main character has dagger that gives him special abilities

I remember this one male character who was conflicted about being in the group. They were headed somewhere and he had a special dagger that gave him special abilities when he fought. Then there was a girl he was in love with pretty sure she died. The dagger had a name I’m pretty sure

He's not the main character, but the Stiehl wielded in The Druid of Shannara might fit.
