A boy goes on a journey (travels) in search of something only to find it back home where he started. I think the cover was white, yellow or tan. I owned this book back in 2005 but I don't think it was new even then. This is all I can remember about it. If someone can help me with this I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

The Remarkable Journey of Prince Jen springs to mind, but your description could probably apply to quite a few stories. Can you remember anything more specific about the plot or setting?

I looked up this book that you mentioned unfortunately it is not it, good try you even got the colors right. I can not remember anything else other then him going to distant lands and not being from the u.s. thank you.
