I’m looking for a book I read in 2013, when i was 10. I’m not sure if it would fit under teen or YA since i used to read both.
To summarise it starts with the main character telling of a curse on her family that usually affects only men but for the first time ever a woman inherited it, which was her. The curse is in the form of a book which the accursed stumbles across at a certain age (maybe 17...?) where stories from Brothers Grimm fables begin to come to life and she has to sort of ‘solve’ them which absorbs the scenario back into the novel as though it was always just a story. The book is just blank until she does so.
For example she has a prom and every dress she tries on turns red so she is forced into the role of little red riding hood. On the night she is attacked by three men from the ‘Bears’ Football team.
Another one is where her best friend is in a car accident and falls into a coma and the mc’s crush is given the role of the prince who wakes her up. So she has to encourage him to kiss her best friend so she wakes up again.
Im pretty sure its a trioligy and one of the novels is called ‘Fabled’ but I cant find it Anywhere !!! >:(
Also the version called fabled has vines on the cover but thats about all I can remember.
