Thanks Connie ! I'm a great proponent of Wilhem of Orange words : one need not to hope to begin nor to succeed to keep on. This is very bad English but I hope you'll understand :-(
I've had trouble reading for the last six months so I hope the new year will be better and I'll explode! my target in 2021.

>4 h-mb: I understand. Just go on doing what you are doing despite of missing success or hope to finish where you want to. That's what we all have to do to get a better year.
I hope you get your reading vibe back!

First of the year, Préhistoire. La fabrique de l'homme by François Bon. Rather an academic book about "Prehistory, the making of man". In fact it covers the Upper Paleolithic in Europe and stresses upon the social changes next to the technical ones or the adaptation to the environment.
I began the year very seriously indeed but the next one will be a little fantasy book :)

To day, a fantasy book How are the mighty fallen by Thomas Burnett Swann : how to revisit the story of David and Jonathan with Sirens and Cyclopes. A pleasant if sad story.

Mystery in the Rome of Vespasian : vivid characters and Davis makes us breath the air of the time:
