This is a YA fantasy book I found a few years ago and I think it was pretty new then.
The only thing I remember is that this teen lives in a world where some people had magic powers and that their own powers was to be able to make their drawings come to life. There might have been a taboo surrounding it, but I'm not sure about it. I also have memories of an academy or similar.
