Weird entry

I just found this 'book' in my wishlist.

https://www.librarything.com/work/25628304/editions/197658117

No title, no work title. A few reviews and some CK. It says over 13,000 people have it, but the first time I looked there were very few editions and those with few copies. Now I get

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 314572800 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 65536 bytes) in /var/www/html/inc_normalization.php on line 1856

Should I just try to delete this? I thought I'd report it first.

The good old black hole work strikes again :( I doubt that even staff can do something about your copy - so deleting is probably the best option but I’d leave it for them to at least see it.

Do you know which book it was supposed to be in your catalog? Source issue or LT glitch during adding can cause this usually.

No idea. I have very little in my wish list. I also almost never look at it, so this could have been there for a long time.

Just got the first editions page again. It shows 9 titles with one copy each.

>4 MarthaJeanne: Yeah - these need to be pulled out and separated - the black hole work sometimes manages to snag legitimate books as well.

I got a few separated before I lost the page again.

Got them all now.

Several were from the catalogue of https://www.librarything.com/profile/Heinz_Huster

The work sometimes showed on the separations page as being by https://www.librarything.com/author/welchlew although none of the editions were by him.

I was not able to combine any of the editions I separated out with other works.

In your catalog, it shows as having been added on March 14, 2021. It shows with the odd tag of ?.. (that's a question mark followed by two periods).

Hmmm. Interesting. I don't have any other entries on that date, but several library books entered the next day.

I knew about the odd tag. Probably could have been ... , but the iPad sometimes puts ? when I think I'm typing .

Maybe LT went down just as I was starting to enter the library books. If I missed one then, it would have been entered by now as I read it. That doesn't really explain either the tag or the wishlist. Doesn't really matter.

I'll delete it later.

>7 MarthaJeanne: It is possible that these got trapped because they somehow got added as empties (like yours) and then they were edited to their proper values by the member. Who knows.

Thanks for pulling them out :)

Argh, such a frustrating bug. Thanks for the report! I've added it to the ongoing bug thread here: https://www.librarything.com/topic/80849. Closing this one for housekeeping.

OK, it deleted without any problem.
