Takes place in a fanciful England/Europe (but totally different place-names). War takes place between citizens of different countries and factions. One group are actually robots or cyborgs, others are humans who have special powers, like influencing others’ thoughts. Lots of description of government agencies, politicians, warriors, shamans. Skyscrapers are somehow built of pressurized air...

This might also be the series by Carrie Patel that starts with The Buried Life.

Seeing the title and the brief description of this book it interested me, until I read the LT reviews and saw the price on Amazon. For £1.99 I might have given it a try, but not for £5.49.
