I've been searching for it since high school with no luck. I remember vividly what the cover looks like and little pieces of the story. The cover is a teen boy wearing a red sweater and blue jeans kneeling by a gravestone and either peeking around the corner or hiding behind the stone and there is witch/ghost of a woman in the background. As far as the story itself all I can remember is that his mom might have died or is sick, and at one point he is in the graveyard reading one of the headstones and there is a epitaph written on one of the stones about ivy.
I've looked through hundreds of covers from ya novels from the 80s and the 90s and have found covers that look similar so I've looked at those authors and still can't find anything!!!
