Found: museum antiquarian and FBI agent

remember the basic description but not the title might be a series I don't think the antiquarian in this case curated books was a specialist in 'something'

That's not a lot to go on. Is it mystery? romance? general fiction? thriller? When (even a date range) did you read it? Was it new when you read it?

The first Pendergast novel is set in the New York Museum of Natural History. Pendergast is an FBI agent. Margo Green is a museum curator/researcher.

this woman was an expert in some particular object the FBI agent is unconventional possibly drives an unfashionable car, that's all I know.

Maybe Carla Neggers Donovan & Sharpe series (I think the first is Saint's Gate)? I think she is an art restorer and he is an FBI agent
