Character named Eilis, Pub. before 1994

Help!
I am trying to find out what book a name came from.
All I know is that a character is named Eilis.
and it would have to have been published before 1994.
I'm assuming its fictional.

I found Eilis: A Woman’s Story by Padraic Colum published ca. 1907, but I’m sure there are other possibilities. Do you have any other details to go on?
