Found: Hello I'm in search of what a book is called

I read this book 4 or maybe 5 years ago and I was hoping I could get some help finding the title

I read this book about 4 or 5 years ago and it took place back then, it was like old fashioned. A girl and her family lived in a cabin I think and they had a farm, I think they grew corn. I remember she had a brother and a sister, the main chatacter is a 12 maybe 13 year old girl I think. I remember a group of indians like raided their home and one of them killed and scalped her father, I think they killed her brother too. The indians took her and her sister(I believe the sister is younger than her) they kidnapped them and took them back to their tribe and I believe other indians of the same tribe had kidnapped other girls, I think she even recognized one of them as her friend or neighbor. I remember that the indian women stripped their clothing and put them in the stream in order and scrubbed their skin with wet sand until the girls skin would turn red as if to "wash off" the white race. The girl and her sister were placed with a woman and her son. Her son was the indian that scalped the girl's father. I can't remember much else except that they gave the girls indian names and dressed them in indian clothing I think I remember her pointing out a deer skin dress. There's a point in the book where the woman's son shows up drunk and tries to take advantage of the girl but the woman stops her own son and protects the girl. I believe the intention behind tribe kidnapping the girls was to marry them to some of the men in their tribe and grow the tribe. That's all I can remember.

Hey so I read this novel back in 2017,
A girl named Leslie (I think its her name not sure?) is the main character and she is like a business woman or a lady politician in her town and this man comes in to the town and wants to run for town governor and asks her for help since she is well known. She is typically hesitant at first but helps him along the way and they fall in love with each other. His father is a wealthy man and has a high name in the society especially more after his son gets elected. The guy and (leslie) decide to get engaged and they woukd have their wedding later. Before the wedding day though, the guys has to travel to a different country for some business trip. Leslie is at home the day before her wedding (or on the day of her wedding) when she gets the news in the newspaper that her fiance has had his engagment and has married someone else in that country already. She's heartbroken obviously so she starts her plan of getting revenge on him until he breaks his high status quo and falls. She works at a newspaper company and decides to send people to spy on him and get some *tea* that she could publish publicly. She ends up somehow with a false rumor about the guy (not sure what) and even though her employees and colleagues try to stop her from stooping to this level, she goes ahead and publishes that false rumor which she thought was true and no one as heard off. This doesn't turn out to be the case because later (some event happens where her rumors were figured out to be a lie just to get rid of the guy) and the entire town accuses her and stops being on her side to turn on her. Ultimately her plan backfired so now she is in ruins while her exfiance isn't. Im not sure what happens after whether he tells her the plan or they make up somehow but yeah that's it
