Repairing a crease in the spine of a cloth-bound book

Any suggestions? This is for my own personal book. I suspect it's unlikely to be able to look perfect, but I'd like to at least even out the crease. Thanks in advance.

You might also try using a hot iron with or without steam but with several folds of cloth between the surface of the iron and your cloth bound book. Try reducing the number of folds until you feel the heat reach your book cover.
