Just watched the new BBC documentary, "Quentin Blake - the drawing of my life", available on BBC iPlayer at https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0012xpw/quentin-blake-the-drawing-of-my-l... (there may be territorial restrictions).
Now aged 89, he still draws live as sprightly as he used to on Jackanory, what, forty or more yars ago. Substantial contributions from David Walliams (particularly about The boy in the dress), Michael Rosen (especially on Michael Rosen's sad book) and Felicity Dahl (Roald Dahl's widow, on illustrating The BFG). Other contributors include Steven Appleby (who looks just like one of the characters from her 'Loomus' cartoons in the Guardian), Chris Riddell (ex-children's laureate, among so much else), Lauren Child (the 'Charlie and Lola' series), Dapo Adeola (a new name on me, but one to watch), and Peter Capaldi (an art graduate - who knew!). Also an introduction to Quentin Blake's 'House of Illustration', https://www.houseofillustration.org.uk, (opening next year in London?).
Well worth watching.
