My library of Heritage Press books

Hello, new member here. I rescued 29 HP books from my father's estate, and have added all of them to my library here at LibraryThing.

All have their Sandstone and slip cover.

Is there a way for me to make my library visible to the folks in this group? I was thinking that if some of the Sandstones would be helpful to others, I can work on scanning them.

Thank you.

I assume you mean Sandglass?

Congrats on your new books and condolences on your loss. I believe your library defaults to public so everyone can view it.

By default, your LT library is already publicly available:
https://www.librarything.com/catalog/Rollingm/yourlibrary

>1 Rollingm: I've confirmed that your library is viewable. You can show a small image of your book by selecting the Change Cover option.

I think you'll really like these books.

I have mostly HPs (I only own a handful of LECs) and would be very grateful for scans of the Sandglasses.

I'm a HP collector. This is a nice base collection! Congratulations and condolences.

I would be glad to scan all the Sandglasses. Is there a way to post them, either on the site, or within my library?

Two of our members have collaborated on a database of LEC Monthly Letters: >wcarter and >ironjaw. I know that >ironjaw (Faisel) had included in his regular Dropbox folder Monthly Letters and some Sandglass scans as well, and I believe >wcarter built upon this for his database (thanks again!).

I am a veritable ignoramus compared to them when it comes to creating something such as a website of Sandglass scans, but perhaps they could help with this, which I personally would love to see (and contribute to).

Explanation of how to post a link to a photo in an LT thread have been sent as a PM to >11 Rollingm:, but are repeated below for the benefit of others.

There are several ways of doing what you want to do, but the simplest is to use your Library Thing Junk file in your personal picture file. The steps to use are:-

> Scan document and save scan
> Open Library Thing
> Click Profile (top left of screen)
> Click add picture (upper right)
> Select Junk Drawer under To Where?
> Select browse
> Select image from where you saved it
> Click upload image
> Click on image and select Copy Image Link
> Paste copied URL into LT thread
> Add description beside URL in LT thread.

Anyone reading that LT post can then click on the link you have made to see the document.

Got some help from both >ironjaw and >wcarter. Thank you.

I created a google drive folder and loaded the PDFs of my Sandglasses there.

I believe anyone can click on this link, and view / download. But I'm just an amateur, so if you try and run into problems, please let me know.

thanks,
chris

Well done! I didn't try to download, but they opened just fine and are very well labeled.
