Fatal Error

When I tried adding Death Is A Bloodstained Shadow: The Giallo Cinema Chopping List to my library I received this error:

The author page shows a green checkmark next to the title but the book is not listed in my library. Clicking on the work gives the message that this is a private book.

Can I ask how you added (or tried adding) the book to your library? If from the "Add books" page, can you tell me what source you searched and how you searched for the book to add it?

NB for testing/devs: there are 2 default (brown) covers under the member's Recently Added Homepage module, the first giving no work details and the other giving the Death is a Bloodstained Shadow details.

Clicking on the first empty work goes to https://www.staging-lt.net/problem/18 with the message "Problem There is no work with that reference number"; clicking on the second work Death is a Bloodstained Shadow goes to https://www.staging-lt.net/problem.php with the message, "This is a private book."

The 1 member listed on the work page owning the work is another private member, not the OP. Seems the book didn't finish getting added to the member's library, causing the discrepancies.*

*Just ruminating: a hole in the process, maybe related to the black hole work bug?

It was a manual addition.

ETA: I tried adding manually, with just the title and author, and didn't have any trouble. Perhaps intermittent issues.

@Harry_Vincent, would you mind letting me know what fields you filled in, and what Collection/s you were adding to when this happened? Feel free to private message me if you don't want to post here.

I was adding to two collections, Your library & Ebooks in these fields:

title
author
tags
publication
primary language
original language

This issue (a half-added book that can't be deleted) happened for another member while we were having "Add books" issues: https://www.librarything.com/topic/340183#7783118.

I am getting a fatal error when I attempt to update a book - to move it from Collection 'Possible' to 'Paperback'. The error reported is:

I am only changing the Collection field. I have tried adding the same book and it happens also with that.
It also happens with Quick Edit.

I now find that I cannot add any new book without the Fatal Error - which is reported as "Error Connecting to server(110): Connection timed out".

Trying to edit any of my books, either in the Power-Edit method or by clicking the pencil to open up a new page to edit book details, gives me this:

Yep, same fatal error here. Tried to update a tv series entry (Gotham, season one; Edit Your Book page), the fatal entry first popped up when I tried to update the "From Where" information. I also tried to update tags in the "Your books" page, just to see if that worked, but no. Fatal error again.

I also get the same error if I try to change the title or tag of a book in the library:

But reloading the page I see that the change has been saved and the error message has disappeared.

This is also happening in the LibraryThing Phone app.

Sorry about this everyone. We had some trouble overnight with the servers. The developers are on it, and this should be resolved, or soon will be. We'll be reindexing catalogs for members affected. We think that will take around 8 hours.
