Amazon Japan "Amazon server connect failed"

Hi, I recently tried to add the book 旅をする木 from Amazon Japan/amazon.co.jp search result.

Got the error "Amazon server connect failed" when searching for the book using "Add books" feature.

I tried other queries in English and got the same error.

I can always add the book manually. Just want to let you know.

>1 jataeqa: Sorry, we don't actually have server access to Amazon.co.jp, they haven't approved our Associates Account stuff since we updated our Amazon sources awhile ago. It works intermittently (probably for cached data), but that's probably it. Not much we can do here, alas.

A couple of examples that don't work at all for me: 978-4824000422 / 978-4391159196 (they give "Amazon server connect failed" as the error message)

An example that seems to work, but actually fetches data from a listing by a third party seller at Amazon.com (with incomplete and incorrect metadata): 978-4040741550

From what I can tell, most popular books and series work in the sense that they're able to get data from Amazon.com, but I'd prefer to be able to get complete and correct metadata from Amazon Japan, something which the listings at Amazon.com are often lacking.

Examples to pass along to developers:
1. 9784824000422 brings up results for Japanese and English books on amazon.co.jp: https://www.amazon.co.jp/s?k=9784824000422&i=stripbooks&crid=3FE7P6C6NWA... and https://www.amazon.co.jp/s?k=9784824000422&i=english-books&ref=nb_sb_nos..., but not on Amazon Japan books (or all media) source on "Add books".
2. 9784040741550 brings up a result on "Add books" but seems to have outdated data from https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/%E5%A3%81%E9%A6%96%E9%A0%98%E5%A4%A7%E5%85%AC-eboo... . (Is this on Amazon's end or ours?)

When I try to search any of the three ISBN's on Amazon Japan with "English books" selected, it says "No results for ISBN in English Books", with the Japanese result listed below.

Also, when I try to add the last example, 978-4040741550, to LibraryThing, it shows the author field populated by the "Publisher" (actually importer) / Contributor taken from Amazon.com ("HIJJPS"), and not any data actually from Amazon Japan. So I'm pretty sure nothing is actually getting through from Amazon Japan itself.

Ah! I missed that part. That's good info.

Re: the latter example, it could be outdated/bad cached data from the Amazon API or something, but I'm guessing in the dark. I need @ccatalfo to test this further when he can.
