Among all the books written that touch on aviation, what are some of the best among the instructional standards? I don't mean the FAA publications so much as a pilot with years of experience who sat down and put it all together in one book. My list below should clarify what I mean. I don't want to limit things too much, but "best" for me is about staying power - classics. I'm always looking for another classic volume to read and add to my library and crowd-sourcing is a great way to do it! I'll get us started with a few of my favorites in no particular order...
1. Stick and Rudder (Langewiesche)
2. The Compleat Taildragger Pilot (Plourde)
3. Mountain Flying Bible (Imeson)
4. Weather Flying (Buck)
