Found !!!!!!So the book is about a male queer interracial couple. One is David who is DL black man who is up and coming he has questions about his sexuality and due to that cheats on his partner who is a Val queer white man (?) I think. The white man comes from a rich family and is very worldly he also has long hair and pretty hazel green eyes. The black man eventually makes it big I think he was an up-and-coming artist. The white male in public is very chill but in private is dominant in the relationship. That is all I remember it was paperback when I read it back in the 2005-2009.

Some overlap with This Is Kind of an Epic Love Story by Kacen Callender.
