I read this book a looooooong time ago, probably early 2000's. Wanting to read it again but can't remember the author or the title!
What I can remember is it's a period romance where the main girl is not the picture perfect girl. She is compromised in a library maybe and is found by a brother and his friend. They think the man raped her. So the friend announced he will marry her. She always liked the friend. But she tries to tell them that she wasn't raped. And they marry. New husband wont consumate the marriage thinking she is terrified. She wants to. So she tries to find a way to tell him. She weirdly announces the latin phrase that makes it seem like she is saying she is the virgin Mary. He gets the point. That is all I can remember. No names of any characters. Thank you!!!!!!
