There was a revision to author pages pushed out in error and, based on my experience in the 15 minutes or so that it was out, I beg @ConceptDawg and @knerd.knitter to not put those changes into effect anytime soon. A huge sticking point is that the right side of the screen does not "stick" to the center, so for those of us on a Combining streak, it needlessly slows us down with extra scrolling to get to that section. The same applies to author combo suggestions and "nevering." I won't even get into the suggested author section that should be shoved to the bottom of the page (or deleted entirely). I haven't bitched or complained about changes to the site for well over a decade, but what I saw was absolutely terrible. Please, please float these changes out for review or point me to the discussion where this occurred.

Yes. We are attentive to this. It won't go out as-is. (Basically, it went out before any design pass.)

I've noticed that bios from publishers are now showing at the top of author pages. Intentional or another escapee? I have to say that if these bios are now going to be included, then we really need a way to get rid of the outdated ones: the one for Poppy Z. Brite is really bad since Brite is male and also divorced.

1> It went out at about the 50% stage of completion. There will be MANY more changes, both small and large before it gets released. Your comments are welcome, just know that it was nowhere near being ready to be seen and the sidebar not moving was a bug related to it not being finished.
As for the sidebars: when a page is properly built both sidebars scroll with the screen (as long as they are taller than the screen...otherwise there's no need for them to scroll, obviously). But we are also working to reduce the amount of clutter in the sidebars so that things like combining, etc. are easier to get to.
