I will not be going anywhere for a while since I tested positive this morning. I've spent the day binge watching crime dramas and haven't picked up a book. So far I'm not really feeling any worse than I did after the 2nd shot and the booster. In fact, I feel a little better than that because I don't have the fatigue that I did with the shots.

I am still working my way through The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, and I'm starting the group read of Miss Mackenzie. Listening to Trace Elements.

Sunday noon posting:
Books Read From: Still picking up Unwarranted: Policing Without Permission by Barry Friedman. Tilted World by Tom Franklin. Nine Pints: A Journey Through Money, Medicine, and Mysteries of Blood by Rose George for the LT June challenge of books about science and medicine. I started Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America's Shining Girls by Kate Moore. I am listening to Thunderstruck by Eric Larson since I didn't go anywhere this weekend I am making less progress on it than I would like.

Books finished in this weekend's Readathon: Paper Bark Tree by Ovidia Yu

Book Thoughts: Tilted World is picking up. I read a good sized chunk of it yesterday and finally it is developing a plot that is interesting. Tom Franklin is a well respected southern author and I have several of his books on my TBR list. However, for such a well known author, I am surprised that this book has taken so long to get going. Now I am anxious to see how he finishes it.
Time reading: 3 hours
Time posting:
Food: Cappuccino from Starbucks this morning.
Nonbook activities: I spent yesterday catching up on phone calls. We have a major family crisis and I was on the phone the whole day. At least it seems like it. Listening to people. I did go to the swimming pool yesterday afternoon and got some reading time in and made lots of progress on Titled World. I was amazed at how many people were reading books in the water. With all those children splashing about that seemed a bit risky to me. However, I forgot to take my watch off and wore it into the water. It didn't hurt the watch but it served to remind me that I am getting a bit absent minded. I plan on going back later this afternoon and so should finish the book today. At least I hope to finish this one today.

OK, I'll bite. I just reserved the first one, Black Sun, from the library.

Books:
Nine Lives, Swanson
Forty Acres and Maybe a Mule, Robinet. Won Scott O'Dell Award for historical fiction.

breakfast - just coffee. I'll think about some lunch later. Maybe go out for lunch; I have to buy cat food today and maybe more birdseed and suet.

Other activity:
Watching tv series, 'Better Call Saul.'
Watching birds, bunnies and chipmunks in the back yard. Dang rabbits ate my hostas but the babies are cute. Mockingbirds are chasing the brown thrashers away from the feeder. Going out shortly to water my plants.

Thoughts: Need to be reading more off my TBR shelves. Goal is for half the books read to be off my own shelves and then donated and out of the house! Of the 10 books read in May, only one was TBR.

>20 benitastrnad: I enjoyed it, though it took me several chapters to remember who was who and what was going on, so I'd recommend reading the two books relatively close together. In general, it's a bit darker than my usual taste in SFF (my favorites currently are the Murderbot series, Ben Aaronovitch's Rivers of London, and anything Lois McMaster Bujold writes), but it's fascinating to read epic fantasy in a setting based on pre-Columbian America.

Sunday afternoon:

Books read from: Sunny Song Will Never Be Famous
