The book would have been written before 1995. It is a collection of unusual stories, mostly ghost related but not all.
The cover depicted two identical men facing each other, their black hair tangled together. They were in one of the stories, which is about an alcoholic who breaks a mirror and his seven years bad luck is to have his reflection follow him like a doppleganger.
Another story is about a child chased by invisible animals in a forest, he hides in a tree and can see their tracks in the snow.
Another story is about the mask party in venice, a young man goes and gets a mask with no face, which becomes his(maybe?)
Another is of a child visiting his friend's house where they are having a loud garden party. He goes to the toilet to et away from the noise and a voice starts talking to him. It is revealed everyone in the house is always noisy and loud so they don't have to hear this ghostly child.
The last one I remember is of two children being looked after by a horrible stepmother/nanny. She takes them past a pond in a park at night which a local legend tells of a monster living in. As they go past they sing a song like "oh lady of the little lake, come not now for pity's sake" which is supposed to keep the monster away, but are shushed and then the monster eats the nanny.
I used to loved this book as a child and my copy got lost somewhere along my travels. I cannot remember name or author/s. Any help would be most gratefully received. Thank you.

This is surely "The Whisperer" by Vivien Alcock. It's in her collection Ghostly Companions, together with a story called " The Strange Companions", which I think might be your 1st story, "A Fall of Snow" (your 2nd) and "The Masquerade" (your 3rd) and "A Change of Aunts", which includes the chant, "Lady of the little lake, come not nigh, for pity's sake!"
