The only member who has entered this book has entered it that way. It has been combined with https://www.librarything.com/author/farewellnina

I usually put "pseud" in the Role field. It is unlabeled but to the right of the Author field.
I have a lot of pseudonymous books in my collections because of the emphasis on series books. I prefer to have the primary author be the name you see on the book itself with a role of "pseud". Then under Other Authors I will add the author's real name (often several wrote under a given pseudonym for my books) along with the cover and interior illustrators (sometimes different, sometimes unknown).
I don't have a big stake in this particular book or author. Possibly the person who changed the CK Canonical Name for the author, didn't realize that it affected how everyone sees the listing.

Nobody 'changed a Canonical Name'. That is how it was entered using Library of Congress as the source. Only the one member has this book. The author page is just Nina Farewell.

I haven't looked at your Nina Farewell example.
Some library sources are wildly inaccurate based on the information, lack thereof, or zeal of catalogers. For example:

The name on the book is "Gertrude Calvert Hall" but this is a Stratemeyer Syndicate pen name and Howard R. Garis was the ghostwriter of it.
The catalog listing attributes the book, incorrectly, to Gertrude Hall Brownell.
It will probably retain this error for all time in library catalog systems.
