2 recent posts on Facebook with printings of excerpts from bleak house. If they plan on printing the full novel, that would be epic.

What's the point of printing excerpts from the novel, other than perhaps for a broadside?

>1 trentsteel: >3 ultrarightist: I believe they've announced this project already. Robert Heth is creating (or at least collaborating on) a book of wood type. Not that I know what that actually means in practicality.

ยง Trust me - that will not happen.
Sadly not, much as we'd love to.

We have an extensive collection of wood type and wanted to make a type specimen. We thought it would be more interesting to have a text running through the book than to use a collection of alphabets or parts of them and chose the opening chapter of Bleak House, one of the really great pieces of English descriptive writing. Each typeface will be identified and annotated and the full chapter will be printed in hot metal at the end of the book.

>5 handandeye: Ah, I see. I had initially thought you were taking excerpts from throughout the novel and printing them. Taking a single chapter - indeed singular for the reason you stated - for printing with representative wood types makes sense and I can appreciate the appeal.

Someone has read the Book "A far away country" ?
I recently just saw this book at "hand and eye" and did some research, but not much insight or reviews are shared along the Internet.

>7 Ragnaroek: I believe this is the first print edition of "A Far Away Country," which is why you will not find many reviews since there've been no trade editions, however it does seem to be available as an e-Book if you'd like to get a taste for it.
The author was the publisher's mother, which is why they made such a labor of love out of an unknown work like this.

>9 Ragnaroek: "A far away country" is ready to ship and has been ready for quite some time. I own the roman edition, and it's a beautiful production as one would expect. Beautiful leather and binding, great illustrations and an interesting plot. I am surprised it's still available.

I have thought different times about ordering this book, but unsure about the quality of writing. Thanks to all though for bringing it back to my attention.

I received an email earlier this week, saying that pre-orders for Shadows of Time will open on 28 March:
https://www.handandeye.co.uk/shadows-of-time
I don't know the work myself, but it may be of interest to others. Has anyone read it?
