Books added today (9/10/22) cannot be found using search or in Tinycat.

I have a new batch of books to add to my library and have found that while the system is adding them and assigning the next barcode, they are not visible when searching for them; nor are they able to be found in my TinyCat. I double-checked each, they are in the collection: “Your Library.” In fact, I only have 1 collection – My Library. Searching for keywords from the title or the barcode fails to find the books in LibraryThing and in TinyCat.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's a classroom library and my students use it daily. Thanks!

It seems that the books I added about 3 hours ago and beginning to show up if searched for and in my TinyCat. I have never experienced a delay before.

Hi @RTB_EdRes,

Sorry for the delay! Search indexing can take some extra time, sometimes, but do let me know if you see this come up again (and definitely if more frequently). Indexing shouldn't take more than a few minutes (up to 30, within reason). I'm glad your books are showing up, now!

Thank you for posting this. I am having the same problem. I added books an hour or two ago and they are not yet searchable. It helps to know that it can take time. I will try to be more patient!

>4 cbict: Our developers have noticed a recent uptick in search indexing, so they'll be taking a look at it soon to see why that might be. Thanks for your patience!

I'm reopening this so we can keep track of this.

Yeah, the indexing is super slow. I was doing some work on my short fiction catalog this morning - adding a tag to some books - and they're still showing up in search as lacking the tag in question several hours later.

We found the issue: a huge (>225K) import was bogging down the servers. We've suspended the import (I've reached out to the member in question) and will be putting a fix in so the search index queue gets back to where it needs to be. Thanks for your patience!

Okay, the indexing queue has now settled, so I'm marking this as fixed. Thanks for your patience all!
