Do you think the person waking from the nightmare in Chapter 5 was the killer? Any initial thoughts from that chapter about him?

Yes, I think he may be the killer the book says that he is anticipating doing a killing all over again.

Yes, I thought this was the killer. My impression is that he’s not a ‘sicko’ as much as he’s ‘sick’ - he seems removed from the killings, waking in a cold sweat “from ‘the nightmare’”. To my mind, he definitely needs psychiatric help.
He doesn’t ‘feel’ like our usual class of killer…

Sure he must be the killer. Clear he’s not right in the head 😂 I wait to find out what has made him like this, presumably something from his child hood. Also would be interesting to know more about the nightmare.

>5 Andrew-theQM: The way I’m reading it, Andrew, is that the ‘nightmare’ might be the actual episode where he is killing his victim.
I’m waiting for more info to see whether that’s the right way to look at it.

>6 Sergeirocks: Could well be the case.

>6 Sergeirocks: that’s what I was wondering as well. It seems like he’s not seeing himself as a killer - just someone who’s had an “episode”
