Hello!
I was a member of this group years ago. Because of safety concerns early in the COVID-19 pandemic, before ebook loans were available to me, I looked to my home bookshelves (or folders) for reading material that's not public health / political news.
Now I'm piling up new books from libraries and giveaways while ignoring my existing shelves. My home library has been neglected!
I'm wary of giving up privacy because of the hostility in discussions that involve reading books, but I'm also concerned I'm becoming increasingly anti-social. So rejoining this group is additionally an attempt to rebuild social skills, safely. Reading my own tomes will probably be the easy part.
Anyway, I'm aiming relatively low with my reading goal, as we have little more than two months left in 2022.

Regarding the flowery vine and butterfly in my tracker: I live in a semi-tropical area of the USA. Even as we preparing for sudden freezes, pollinators really are flitting between blooms. I sometimes catch the flash of color from butterflies while I'm reading.

Welcome back! Actually what I like about this group is the lack of hostility in discussions! We just all love reading, and sharing that love with people who 'get' us!

Wow, thank you, everyone!
Local library controversy, municipal elections, dramatic weather, a variety of technical problems, and health limitations have been together interrupting plans nearly as soon as they're made.
My goal this week is to read Microsoft's Future Visions: Original Science Fiction from a digital shelf. That's assuming I can access my ebook copy and concentrate on the anthology's content.

I've picked up and reread parts of a few books. Trouble with my reading devices has made my older ebooks inaccessible for most of this time, and I've been too busy during the day to make much headway through books I can't read in the dark.
I was certainly too optimistic before.
After resolving the rest of my technological problems, seeing the end of the Senate runoff election (and its campaign distruptions), and sorting out healthcare insurance problems, perhaps I can focus better on what's on my shelves.
I think then I'll also skim-read my books to determine what to give away. Starting 2023 with an empty shelf seems like a nice concept.
