Books read from: Shadowlands: A Journey Through Lost Britain
Books finished: Shadowlands: A Journey Through Lost Britain
Time reading: 1 hour
Time posting: 9:15 AM
Snacks: cereal for breakfast
Thoughts: This is the part of a three-day weekend where I have to remind myself that one extra day doesn't give me time to read ten books, completely reorganize the kitchen, write 20,000 words on my NaNoWriMo project, plan my Christmas shopping budget, and, I dunno, solve world hunger, all with plenty of time to spare to take in a showing of Wakanda Forever.
Non-book activities: So far? Slept in a bit and ate breakfast.

Book Thoughts: I am within 30 pages of finishing Delta Wedding! I am enjoying Out of the Flames and have discovered that the Heroes of the Faith that I was raised with might be wrong - John Calvin was NOT a nice man. I started another series. This time it is the Murdotbot Diaries.

Books finished: Valley of the Sun
Non-book activities: removed and replaced car battery in my dad's Mercury, woo! I also dug up my yams, a big pile all from one store-bought yam I planted in the late Spring. Oh, and did a water change for all three aquariums...they were overdue (2 weeks).

I really wanted to read more, but I'm still sorting through a couch covered with boxes, the last bits of my dad's things, and the usual weekend stuff that pops up.

>28 alcottacre:
Oh I loved Possession by A. S. Byatt. The recorded version of it is very good as well. What I really liked was all those spooky fairy tales that were included in the parts about Brittany. Brittany is not a part of France that gets much attention, but it is so very interesting.

Monday morning wrap-up

Books read from: Delta Wedding by Eudora Welty. Out of the Flames: The Remarkable Story of a Fearless Scholar, a Fatal Heresy, and One of the Rarest Books in the World by Lawrence Goldstone. Third Horseman: Climate Change and the Great Famine of the 14th Century by William Rosen, and I am still slowly cruising through the captions and looking carefully at the illustrations in Mysteries of the Middle Ages by Thomas Cahill even though I listened to the recorded version of the book. I am listening to Us Against You by Fredrik Backman.

Books finished in this weekend's Readathon: I finished Mimosa Tree Mystery by Ovidia Yu. All Systems Red by Martha Wells. Delta Wedding by Eudora Welty.

Book Thoughts: I finally finished Delta Wedding. Phew! This was my first reading of anything by Eudora Welty (except for her letters to William Maxwell and all I can say is, that I hope she did a better job of writing than what was in this book. I rated it at 2 1/2 stars. I thought it was totally pointless and really had no plot. It was just one long description of a week of privileged life among the privileged in the Mississippi Delta.

Non Book Activities: I worked this weekend so didn't get much reading done.

Time reading: 1 hour.
Time posting:
Food: quick snack when I got home from work.
