I read a book about 7 years ago where a girl would go visit a building every summer. There was an elevator with 4 floors and when she used it to go up a floor, she traveled a year into the future, and when she went up two floors, traveled two years, and so on. There was a boy as well that used the elevator as well. When she traveled to the fourth floor, the building had been shut down and she was trapped there for a while until she was able to get into the elevator again. I think it ended with them saying they would meet back in thirty years, but missed each other by a year.

Sounds a bit like Time at the Top, but they travel back in time instead of forwards in that I think.

>2 RosetheReader: That's what's making it so hard to find. Most time travel books tend to expand outward more than like four years. I'm starting to think I made up this book, but I strongly remember this book terrifying me about losing time since the main character thought she'd never be able to go back to her present, and would have to accept she lost years of her life.
